Pesquisa: débito cardíaco e o ES complex

Um novo estudo clínico foi concluído no departamento de medicina da Universidade de Miami Miller School of Medicine dentro do Hospital Jackson Memorial.

O título do estudo clínico é Estimation of the cardiac output : Photoelectrical plethysmography versus thoracic impedance
Esta é a segunda pesquisa do Hospital com o exame ES Complex onde foi comparado o resultado do débito cardíaco entre dois métodos não invasivos. Com esta pesquisa foi validado o uso do oxímetro do ESO, um dos sensores do equipamento e está de acordo com as normas e certificação 550K do FDA.

ABSTRACT
The Electro Sensor Oxi (ES Oxi) is a device used to display the SPo2 %, the digital pulse wave form (photoplethysmography) and heart rate detection. The wave form and heart rate variability analysis provides specific algorithm to estimate the cardiac output. The objective of this study was to compare the ES Oxi algorithm to a standardized assessment of cardiac output.
Fifty-one subjects between 18 and 65 years of age were assessed by the ES Oxi and the BioZ Dx devices. The correlations between the ES Oxi and the BioZ Dx were very high (r=0.693 (p <0.0001) at baseline, r=0.79 (p < 0.0001) after the first exercise stage, and r=0.86 (p < 0.0001) after the second exercise stage, respectively), suggesting that the ES Oxi algorithm has predictive capability of cardiac output. The results of the study suggest that the ES Oxi device is a very useful, safe, fast, and non-invasive way of estimating CO.

CONCLUSIONS
The results of the study suggest a high correlation between the ES Oxi and the BioZ Dx on CO both at rest and after 2 bouts of low-to-moderate exercise. All subjects completed the assessment without reporting any adverse event, and the assessments were completed in a timely fashion.
